Prayer 1
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: (Matthew 7:7)

Precious heavenly Father, thank you for encouraging me to come and boldly ask you for blessings. I praise Your Name that You have let me know that when I ask I shall receive. You are not reluctant to bless me. You are more willing to bless than I am to ask or receive. I thank You, Father, that there are so many things for me to discover. Life is such a mystery in so many areas. If only I would seek Your help and guidance, it would be much more understandable.

Prayer 2
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Matthew 7:8)

I want to be ever seeking after Your truths. I want to seek in Your written Word. I want to seek in the deep recesses of my mind as You bring things to my attention and memory. I want to grow by reviewing and learning from my past experiences. I seek Your truths, Father, in the great hymns You have revealed to Your children through the centuries. I want to seek Your truths in my prayer times. I want to seek to behold Your truths being revealed at work and at home. May the commonplace events of my day be seen as steps in my search for You and Your blessings. I shall continue to seek to know and to do Your will, Father. I thank You for putting in my spirit the deep desire to keep seeking. I know that in so doing I shall find. I shall find You and discover Your ways and will for me and mine. I am grateful You have promised to bless my efforts. This positive promise that I shall find as I seek is a strength to me. I stand with firm confidence on this Your Promise to me and to all who diligently seek.

Father, I thank You for the doors which open as I keep knocking. Every day there are certain areas of life which seem to slam shut in my face. I am comforted by Your sure Word that I can knock and the doors to these facets of life will open unto me. I especially want to knock and to keep knocking on the door of spiritual knowledge and revelation. I knock at the door of faithful service and as it opens I choose to walk into the room of commitment. This door has swung wide for me, Father, and I truly want to enter through it to a deeper and fuller fellowship with You.

Father, it seems that the walls in the room of commitment which I have entered are lined with doors. Each one of these doors I have knocked upon has opened revealing more door-lined rooms. Unabashed and unafraid I walk with You into rooms of new challenge and opportunities. However, Father, sometimes I am a bit apprehensive and anxious as I knock on a different door at work, in my relationships with loved ones at home, in my community involvement, and in my inward spiritual adventure. I am grateful You have taught me it is not a sin to be apprehensive, but it is a sin to be disobedient. I acknowledge how depressed and bad I feel when I look back at a door which opened and I refused to walk into that room of growth where You were calling me. Forgive me for this, Father.

Grant to me grace and strength to lift the hand of faith and knock on the doors which loom before me. May I then discern the open doors through which You want me to go and the ones which You want to remain closed. Unabashed and unafraid, may I keep knocking and be willing to enter on new adventures for You. Thank You for making it an endless adventure of excitement, trust, and praise. Father, teach me to really believe that when I ask, You answer; that when I seek, I find; that when I knock, the door is opened. What a comfort and strength it is, Father, to realize these promises are not just for others. They are for me, Your child and Your friend. Praise Your Name!

Prayer 3
Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? (Matthew 7:9)

My earthly parents were so kind to me when I was growing up. They sought to care for my every need to the best of their ability. They did not give me things which were harmful, but things which if used properly would enrich my life. Thank You, Father, that You care for me even more than they cared and that You are most anxious to provide for me in ways beyond which they could ever do. You meet all my needs and You are my all in all.

Prayer 4
Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? (Matthew 7:10)

In the midst of my unworthiness and sin, I still desire the very best for my children, grandchildren, loved ones, and friends. Father, my heart is thrilled as I pause and realize You care for me and those I care for in a greater way than I ever could. This truth helps me to appreciate that You want to give me good things. You want my life to be blessed. Father, I can discern from this portion of Your Word that You want to bless me. You are more willing and able to do good for me and mine than any other. You want to bless my relationships with others. You want to supply my physical, spiritual, and material needs. You want me to be blessed in my relationship with You through Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer 5
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? (Matthew 7:11)

Father, I assure You I am ready for Your good things to be given unto me. I realize this is not being selfish on my part to expect them, but is an expression of faith in Your promise that You know how and are willing to give good gifts unto Your children. I gratefully receive Your blessings, Father, and praise Your Name because of them. Thank You, I pray in Jesus' Name. Amen.
